A study from the Alfred-Wegener-Institute reports that microplastic particles have been found in snow from the Alps to the Arctic. Of those particles found in Arctic snow varnish, rubber, polyethylene, and polyamide are most common. Most of the particles found were in the smaller size range, suggesting that the particles may arrive in the frozen North transported in the air.
