In parts of Europe where there is no complete lockdown, people are allowed to go outside in small numbers while keeping a distance. In several cases this has led to large numbers of people going to parks and green areas close to cities. This has resulted in some cities, such as London, closing parks or restricting access, like in Amsterdam. In short term this might be a good solution but it does indicate the importance of green space in cities. It has been shown to be beneficial for air quality, reduces heat in summer and it is clearly highly appreciated in times like these, especially in cities where many do not have access to a garden.
