How a citizen science project is organised isn’t often discussed. But the structure of a  project and the team helps set the tone for engaging with citizen scientists.

This year, the ACTION Accelerator hosted Open Soil Atlas, a citizen science project organised as a sociocracy. Sociocracy is a way of sharing power fairly in groups. During the Accelerator, Open Soil Atlas set about using this organising method to structure its own teams and to recruit and empower citizen scientists. Having successfully graduated from the Accelerator, OSA are returning to ACTION to offer an interactive webinar exploring sociocratic organisation for citizen science projects.

In this 2 hour interactive webinar, the team from Open Soil Atlas will introduce the principles of organising your project as a sociocracy, what that can offer to a citizen science project, and give participants a chance to participate in sociocracy together.

Due to limited capacity for the Webinar, please ensure you register for the event in good time.

The Webinar will be hosted via Zoom. Joining instructions will be sent prior to the webinar.
